The Medieval Larnaca Fort is sited on the seashore and makes a great exploration day.
Visitors can walk around the sea wall with the water up to their ankles. The fort dates back to 1625 and was built by the Turks to defend the city.
Historically used more often as a prison, climbing the fort walls offers great views of the sea. The fort's museum has archeological exhibits from the site of Kition.
